Keeping company vehicles clean is important for the business image and it will not do the company any good for its vehicles to be seen in a dirty or unkempt condition. Presumably the drivers have a uniform or wear smart trousers and a collar and tie, so it should stand to reason that the vehicles they are driving are kept clean and tidy. A pressure washer is a very effective way of cleaning the outside of vehicles and many fleet businesses will have their own pressure washer so that they can keep all their vehicles in pristine condition.
The best way to wash a vehicle is to begin with a rinse. Using the pressure washer with clean water will help remove a lot of the surface dirt and dust before soaping begins. Make sure that all areas of the paintwork are rinsed and that wheels and wheel arches are not neglected. Using a formulated fleet wash is always a good idea as these products have been designed to protect paintwork and remove dirt, dust and grease. If your pressure washer has a hot water option, this is the time to use that so that the soap froths up and combines with the hot water to dissolve greasy residues. Make sure that the windows are all cleaned and that the wheels also get soaped. When you are satisfied that the vehicle has been well washed with fleet wash, use the pressure washer to rinse well. It is important that all traces of soap is removed at this point or streaks may ensue when the vehicle is dry. Once the rinsing is complete, the vehicle should be dried off and polished to a shine.
Not only is company image at stake but by keeping fleet vehicles clean, their condition is constantly monitored and any damage can be noted and/or fixed.
So very true!
